This application is used to establish a connection with the nauta (temporary or permanent) access account from WIFI_ETECSA public sites, easily and securely. In addition, it allows free access to the nauta user Portal through the Wi-Fi network or by activating mobile data, with no need to enter the URL address of such portal in the browser.

  • It checks up that connections are carried out directly to ETECSA’s access points (WIFI_ETECSA).
  • It notifies users when they are not connected to an ETECSA’s access point (WIFI_ETECSA), enabling their disconnection.
  • It establishes a secure connection to the nauta service authentication Portal.
  • It freely accesses to the nauta user Portal, with no need to enter the URL address in the browser, through ETECSA’s Wi-Fi network or by activating mobile data.

The permissions requested by the application are essential to ensure the proper functioning of the application. In this latest version, the requirement to enable the location permission is removed, it is no longer mandatory, but it is requested:

  • Network status permission.
  • Phone status permission.
  • Location permission (not mandatory) and network status.
  • Permission of the phone status which is necessary to validate if the connection is from ETECSA’s or not.

We recommend you to read carefully the “Terms of Usage” and if you agree, click on Accept. They detail important aspects and information such as the “General Information” of the app, “Legal Information”, “Information Confidentiality”, “Security” and “Contact”.

It is very important to periodically check out the “Terms of Usage” because they can be modified under certain circumstances.

This option allows you to activate or deactivate different facilities such as:

  • Activate floating button
  • Show signal status
  • Show downstream speed
  • Show upstream speed
  • Remind when 5 minutes are left on the account

These facilities are enabled by default, but customers can disable them at any time.

It is very important to periodically check out the “Terms of Usage” because they may be modified by ETECSA under certain circumstances.

To use this application you have to:

  1. Activate the Wi-Fi connection of your device and connect to the WIFI_ETECSA network.
  2. Open the application (app) “nauta” and select the Authentication Portal icon.

The app automatically performs two very quick steps:

  1. It proves that you are truly connecting to an ETECSA’s access point by displaying a message with the text “Verifying”
  2. It establishes the connection to the nauta Authentication Page. In this step it displays a message with the text “Connected”

Then it will display, in the same application, a window to enter your nauta access account data (user and password). Once you have entered your data you must click on the “Accept” button, to then use the Internet service.

The application will then display the “Connection Time” window where you can close the session once you have finished using the service.

The verification process depends on the congestion level that may exist on the Wi-Fi site where you are and in the event it verifies successfully, the step to be connected is very fast, almost imperceptible.

The application has an option to “remember” the nauta account data, but it will only save the credentials (username and password) if you check this “Reminder” option. These will be deleted once you uncheck the option.

Yes. Once the browsing session is started from the “nauta” app, it automatically displays a screen with the “Remaining time” information as well as the “Refresh time” and “Logout” options.

Yes. You have to enter first the account information (username and password) and click on the “USER INFORMATION” button and it will automatically show, among other information of interest, the “available balance” in your nauta access account.

If the browsing session is still active, no; the application will connect again and will show you the “Logout” screen. For security reasons, the system automatically closes the session after two (2) minutes of inactivity as long as you are connected to the WIFI_ETECSA network.

You have to reconnect to the WIFI_ETECSA network and the app will verify if your browsing session is still active and then it will display the “logout” screen. Remember that this is the safest way to disconnect from browsing. Yes, but first the app will notify you that you are not directly connected to an ETECSA’s access point (WIFI_ETECSA) and may compromise the security of your account. Please note that if you do so, it will be at your own risk. 

Try again by clicking on “Update time”, the application displays a notification message when that time was successfully updated. If the operation to update the time was not successful, the application also displays a message.

No. With this application you can also access the Nauta User Portal free of charge while connected to the WIFI_ETECSA network or by activating mobile data.
