“Telecommunications and Innovation for Digital Transformation” was the main topic of the 10th International Telecommunications Symposium, which has taken place for the last 3 days as part of the 13th International Convention and Fair Informática 2022, organized by ETECSA with the support of important entities of the sector in Cuba and other countries, to allow the encounter of prestigious institutions and personalities.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 23, two intense days of learning and knowledge concluded, where sharing and exchanging on the dizzying evolution of Information and Communications Technologies and the main trends and technological solutions in the sector were the motivation of those gathered in person in Room 3 of the Convention Center.

During the second day of sessions, one lecture and five keynote speeches were given by experts from Spain, Italy, Argentina and Cuba. On behalf of ETECSA, the lectures were Evolution of telecommunications networks according to digital transformation, by engineer Adolfo Martínez Segura, vice-president of Business Strategy and Technologies, and Transfermóvil: infrastructure for e-commerce and payment of services through cell phones, by engineer and master Julio García Trápaga, from the Vice-presidency of Network Operations.

The symposium has been an excellent opportunity to update us on Applications and services in the digital environment; Infrastructures and Technologies in tune with the support of the digital era; and New actors, challenges and strategies in the transformation of the business.

These topics were addressed by participants from Mexico, Spain, Colombia, Chile, Russia, Italy, Argentina and Cuba, through 10 keynote lectures, a panel and a presentation, some in person and others in virtual mode in real time that flowed perfectly.

The closing remarks were made by ETECSA's Vice President of Business Strategy and Technologies, who assured that for our company “it has been a real pleasure to have hosted this event, and we are satisfied because the objectives and goals we set when we began the work and organization to make it happen have clearly been met”.

Engineer Adolfo Martínez Segura also described as very positive the exchange on trends and technical scientific advances in the world, and the real possibilities of Cuba to apply them, to enrich us all with good practices in the use of technologies, which contributes -he said- to Cuban entrepreneurs to consolidate their work in the creation of infrastructure and connectivity capabilities, to continue promoting the process of Informatization of Society.

Symposium and Virtual Fair

This Thursday, March 24, ETECSA will hold a totally virtual symposium in Room 6 of the Convention Center, with the presentation of 17 papers by experts from Spain, Mexico and Cuba.

Meanwhile, our company, as in previous editions of the IT events, is also represented at the fair, in this 18th edition in virtual mode in the lobby of the convention center itself.

From Fevexpo, the first Cuban platform for virtual events, developed by the company Desoft, the delegates to Informática 2022 can appreciate the exhibition Panorama de las TIC en Cuba (Overview of ICTs in Cuba), with about 30 projects. Among them, Transfermóvil, EnZona, the Viajando app, Ficha Única del Ciudadano, the Bienestar platform and the Caja Codificadora Cubana.

The Cuba Stand was visited by the Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel, last Monday, March 21, during the opening day of the event, and this Wednesday by the First Deputy Minister of Communications, Wilfredo González Vidal, president of the Organizing Committee of Informática 2022.
